The service is run by Nick Gully, who is a trained and qualified Therapist and Counsellor, who has worked in the field for over twenty years. Nick has held senior positions in some of the leading UK therapy centres, including as Director of Addiction Services at the Priory Hospital in London and as the Clinical Manager at Lifeworks in Surrey. Nick has trained with some of the leading therapists in the USA, such as Dr Patrick Carnes, John Bradshaw, Pia Mellody, Terence Gorski, Brenda Schaeffer and Claudia Black and is a lecturer at Brighton University, and specialises in cognitive behavioural therapy, addiction treatment and relationship counselling.Using a range of styles and approaches, our Counsellors integrate a general therapeutic style with more specialist approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), humanistic therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), structural and family systems therapy, psychodynamic therapy, existential therapy and trauma therapy.
All of our Counsellors are highly trained and experienced individuals who are able to combine an open and genuine manner with a solid understanding of effective therapeutic approaches. In general, our approach is active and engaging rather than distant and unstructured as we believe that therapy is fundamentally a process of change.
Individual, couples and family therapy sessions are provided at our discrete therapy centre in Brighton and Hove, on a busy bus route with free parking close-by.
